At Construction Resources, we believe great leadership is measured not only by achievements, but by the impact made on the people and communities around us. That is why we are proud to celebrate our Design Director, Antonette Copeland as she steps into her new role as President of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) Atlanta Chapter.

For Antonette, this milestone represents far more than a new title. It is the culmination of years of service, leadership development, and a commitment to helping others succeed within the construction and design industry.

A Journey Built on Service and Leadership

Antonette's involvement with NARI has been marked by steady growth and a willingness to serve wherever needed. Before becoming Chapter President for the 2027-2028 term, she served as Vice President, Treasurer, and Director, while also volunteering for initiatives such as the Atlanta Remodeling Awards and Contractor of the Year Awards.

Her dedication to professional organizations extends beyond NARI. Antonette previously served as President of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) Georgia Chapter and held numerous leadership roles focused on education, programming, and member engagement.

These experiences helped prepare her for this next chapter, while also reinforcing a leadership philosophy centered on collaboration, service, and continuous learning.

Leadership Through Growth

When reflecting on the experiences that shaped her leadership approach, Antonette points to two recent opportunities that had a significant impact: attending the NARI National Leadership Session in Chicago and participating in the Ritz-Carlton Leadership Center in Dallas.

"Those experiences challenged me to grow as a leader and think differently about how to serve others," she shared.

The lessons learned through professional development, combined with years of industry experience, have prepared her to guide NARI during an important period of growth and evolution for the remodeling industry.

Leading by Example

For Antonette, being elected NARI President carries both personal and professional significance.

Personally, the role allows her to serve as an example for her daughter, who plans to study Construction Management at Tuskegee University after graduating high school in 2027.

"As a woman in this industry, this role represents growth and trust," Antonette said. "I want my daughter to see that the possibilities are endless."

Professionally, the presidency represents an opportunity to give back to an industry that has helped shape her career while creating meaningful opportunities for others.

"Leadership is about serving others, creating opportunities, and making a positive impact," she explained.

The CR Difference

As Design Director at Construction Resources for the past 12 years, Antonette credits much of her leadership development to the culture and support she has experienced throughout her career at CR.

In her role, she has led teams, built relationships with industry partners, navigated challenges, and mentored others, all while fostering an environment where people can grow and thrive.

She also recalls a memorable moment from her first interview with CR founders Mitch and Sonny Hires.

"They asked me how I could work with professional organizations like NARI," Antonette remembers. "I knew then what the assignment was."

That early encouragement helped reinforce CR's belief in investing in people, supporting professional development, and creating opportunities for leadership inside and outside the organization.

The People Behind the Journey

Antonette is quick to recognize the individuals who have supported and inspired her along the way.

She credits Whitney Bruns, VP of Showrooms, for being a strong mentor and advocate whose confidence and leadership presence continue to make an impact.

She also points to Mitch and Sonny Hires, whose willingness to lead with humility and roll up their sleeves alongside their teams has left a lasting impression.

"A good leader always knows how to do the work they're asking others to do," Antonette said.

Another key supporter has been Carli Nichols, whom Antonette describes as someone who consistently champions others and creates opportunities behind the scenes.

"She's the epitome of saying your name in rooms you're not in," Antonette shared.

Vision for the Future

As NARI President, Antonette's priorities are focused on strengthening and growing the organization.

Her goals include:

  • Creating opportunities for the next generation of industry professionals
  • Increasing and retaining membership
  • Encouraging broader member participation and engagement
  • Fostering diversity and inclusion throughout the industry
  • Expanding educational opportunities, particularly around emerging technologies and AI

She also hopes to strengthen connections among members and create an environment where more professionals feel empowered to lead, contribute, and succeed.

"There's space for everyone," Antonette said.

Inspiring the Next Generation

When asked what advice she would give to professionals interested in leadership roles, Antonette's answer speaks to the heart of her leadership philosophy.

"Leadership is not about one person standing at the front of the room," she said. "It's about bringing people together, creating opportunities for others, and making sure everyone has a chance to contribute to something meaningful."

That mindset reflects the impact she hopes to leave when her presidency concludes: a stronger chapter, deeper industry connections, greater member engagement, and more opportunities for people to learn, lead, and succeed.

Congratulations, Antonette!

Antonette's appointment as NARI Atlanta Chapter President is a testament to her dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the remodeling industry. We are incredibly proud to see her take on this new role and look forward to the positive impact she will continue to make throughout the industry and the Atlanta community.

Congratulations, Antonette, and thank you for representing Construction Resources with excellence.
