Special attention was given to transitions between wood and stone, particularly at the fireplace, ensuring perfectly flush connections and a refined, inset appearance. Achieving this required close coordination between wood and stone teams and advanced planning before installation began.

The kitchen was designed as a focal point of the home, with the range area treated as the “fireplace of the kitchen.” Construction Resources supported the sourcing, fabrication, and installation of stone surfaces for the hood, island, perimeter countertops, and backsplash.

A dramatic quartzite was selected, and veining alignment was a critical design element. To achieve this, the installation followed a precise, layered sequence—beginning with the hood, followed by countertops, and finishing with the backsplash—to maintain visual continuity and structural accuracy.

To visually connect the home’s primary gathering spaces, the same stone used in the kitchen was brought into the living room fireplace. Details such as edge profiles and stone thickness were carefully coordinated so the fireplace would align seamlessly with the surrounding hardwood flooring.
