Sonny Hires is the Senior Vice President of Business Development at Construction Resources, specializing in the surfaces division while contributing across all areas of sales, business development, and customer procurement.
He grew up working for CR-related businesses, as his father founded Atlanta Marble Manufacturing in 1970. Sonny graduated from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia in 1992. He began his career as a corrugated Sales Representative with Pratt Industries in Statesville, NC, and was promoted to Sales Manager within two years, increasing company sales from $19M to $42M.
In 1996, Sonny returned to Atlanta to co-purchase Atlanta Marble with his brother, Mitch Hires. Since then, he has played a pivotal role in expanding the company into Construction Resources and its various divisions, growing sales from $2.5M to over $400M.
Sonny has served on several boards, including the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, HomeAid Atlanta, and Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. He resides in Atlanta, GA, with his wife Julie of 21 years, and they have three children aged 19, 16, and 11.
Fun Fact: In his downtime, Sonny enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his family.
