ARD & AGM Expansion

From its start in 1978, ARD Distributors has experienced an immense amount of demand which has led to expansions throughout Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. Most recently, they have explored the potential for ARD in North Carolina and are excited to announce plans for the opening of ARD’s seventh location.

On May 1, 2018, ARD will begin operations in a new 24,000 sq.ft facility in Charlotte, NC. Kathy Ruiz, a former member of the ARD customer service department, has been promoted to the lead territory manager for this new market.

“This expansion will open new doors for us as we are able to assist the needs of the North Carolina market.” –Arny Cohen, ARD General Manager

Charlotte is an ideal city for ARD’s seventh distribution facility as it is the third fastest growing city in the U.S. and one of the top ten apartment markets in the country. With 13 key customers in this market, Charlotte presents great opportunity for expansion and growth for ARD.

“ARD is not the only Construction Resources company expanding this year. Atlanta Glass & Mirror is also expanding.”

From its start in 2001, Atlanta Glass & Mirror (AGM) has experienced incredible growth, particularly since opening operations in Lexington, South Carolina in 2012 and in Greer two years later.

The success of both these divisions has led to future opportunities and as a result, we are proud to announce plans for AGM’s newest facility.

In February 2018, AGM will begin operations in Summerville, South Carolina. This new 10,000 sq.ft. facility will service the low country from Charleston to Savannah, Georgia. This investment will further expand the Construction Resources footprint in the Southeast.

“Breaking into this new market will bring vast opportunities for AGM and we are excited to further support our customers in the region.” –Joseph Horne, AGM General Manager

AGM has been fortunate enough to partner with notable companies like David Weekly Homes, Mungo Homes, New Leaf Builders, Front Door Communities, and more. The demand from many of their existing key customers for an organization such as AGM has assisted in welcoming their expansion in this market. AGM’s service area in 2018 will include the entire state of South Carolina, as well as neighboring states.

Construction Resources will continue to be the region’s leading source of specialty installed products and are excited about this growth opportunity for their ARD and AGM divisions.

Recycled Surfaces

It’s April and it’s time to go GREEN! What better way to save the planet than by installing recycled surfaces in your home.

Imagine the possibilities of recycled glass or porcelain countertops in your kitchen or bathroom.

Customizable and eco-friendly, these unique countertops are easy to maintain and will last a lifetime (with proper care, of course).

Recycled Surfaces Vetrazzo Floating Blue

Benefits:

Recycled surfaces can be made from recycled glass, paper, and porcelain. By choosing recycled surfaces you are not only cutting down on our planet’s waste, you are also choosing a surface that will benefit your family and their health. Like quartz surfaces, recycled surfaces are non-porous, making them a top choice for keeping bacteria at bay. Recycled countertop surfaces are also very durable as they are heat and stain resistant.

Finishes:

Like other countertop options, recycled surfaces can come in different finishes. Finish options include high gloss, semi-gloss, honed, and matte.

Care:

Not only are recycled surfaces well-loved because of their durability but also because of their care-free maintenance! Simply clean everyday spills with a soft cloth, mild soap, and warm water. To prevent stains, spills should be cleaned as soon as possible. For stubborn stains, you can use a non-abrasive brush. Always remember to use hot pads, trivets, cutting boards and coasters for additional protection to ensure the life of your countertops.

Applications:

A great choice for residential and commercial spaces, recycled surfaces are commonly used indoors as countertops, vanity tops, bar tops, fireplace surrounds and tub decks, wall cladding, entryways, and shower surrounds.

Recycled Surfaces Paperstone

Recycled surface countertops offer many benefits and a vast array of beautiful and fun design choices. The added bonus is that they are earth-friendly and affordable. Let’s make your home green and install recycled surfaces with Construction Resources and it’s family of businesses.

Design Guide: Dream Closet

Do you dream of a beautifully organized closet? At Construction Resources, we can make your bedroom closet dreams come true. Here is our guide to creating the closet of your dreams!

Declutter

We sometimes hate doing this but it is crucial to go through and purge your closet! A good rule of thumb is, if you haven’t worn it in the past year then it is time to let it go. Once your closet has been decluttered it will be easier to store your current items, leaving plenty of room for new items to come.

Organization systems

Organization systems are the most important part of creating your new closet. It is important to develop a system that is easy-to-use to make organizing a way of life instead of a hassle. Construction Resources offers a variety of storage solutions that can be configured to your space.

Islands

By placing in an island or simply a countertop to your dresser, you can add design aesthetics and more functionality to your space. Having a central piece of furniture where you can store and place your items adds a feel of luxury, especially if you top it with a beautiful natural stone. Show off some of your favorite accessories or admire keepsake items daily by displaying them on the surface of your island. Having your go-to things in plain sight makes for a hassle-free environment.

Laundry Room Design

Upgrades

Add little upgrades like, ottomans that double up as storage, fold out ironing boards, and dirty laundry hampers a to make your closet space more effective.

Keep it clean

Sometimes closets become a dumping ground for “putting away” unwanted items. Make sure to take time to get rid of what you aren’t using. Try to have a place for everything and everything in its place to keep your closet, and home in tip-top shape.

Pro Tip: If your closet space is small, change out your clothing by seasons, and store what’s not in use in bins that can fit under beds or on top of closet shelves.

Idea File: Floor to Ceiling Cabinets

A design trend we’ve noticed recently is floor to ceiling cabinetry. While not a new concept, it’s becoming more popular in homes today because it addresses both aesthetic and practical issues.

Floor to ceiling cabinets provide a clean, uncluttered look and help create the illusion of a higher ceiling and larger space. They also provide multiple storage opportunities for families with lots of “stuff” that needs to be close by, but out of sight (hence, the uncluttered aesthetic!). They can be integrated to match other cabinetry within a room and offer many options for flexible storage such as drawers, pullouts, cubbies, etc.

Floor to ceiling cabinets are not just for the kitchen, they provide storage solutions for bathrooms, mudrooms and family/living rooms. Here are a few creative ways to incorporate floor to ceiling cabinetry in your next room makeover.

Here, a wall of floor to ceiling cabinets adds height to the low end of a sloping kitchen ceiling. The cabinetry also conceals the kitchen appliances. It provides ideal storage for items that may not be everyday essentials, but are still needed within the kitchen space.

A rolling library ladder is added to reach the upper cabinets and adds an old world rustic feel to the kitchen.

In this bathroom, a floor to ceiling cabinet and drawer combo creates an efficient utilization of limited space. This is also a great solution when multiple kids in a household share a bathroom, as it by provides individual space for towels, laundry, etc.

White floor to ceiling cabinets and shiplap create a classic coastal feel in this mudroom. The tall cabinets can also be designed as individual lockers with cubbies and hooks inside for keeping kids shoes, coats and other items out of the way.
