Care & Cleaning of your Heritage Wood Collection Countertop
Proper care of wood countertops is vital to maintaining long-lasting beautiful countertops. Wood is very susceptible to the forces of nature. It can be scratched, burnt, dented, stained, warped, and split. There are many ways to take care of wood counter tops starting with the use of knives. Never use a wood counter in place of a cutting board or block.

Moisture is another item, which clashes with wood. Allowing any sweating glass or spilt water to sit on your wood counter tops tells me you are going to have water spots and rings. One of the best inventions to help take care of your wood counter tops is the drink coaster. If you have trouble making people use them, just place them along the wood area. As soon as they see them neatly lying there, it comes naturally, they will get the hint. Keep the wood as dry as you can. To further protect your wood from moisture, occasionally apply some oil to the surface.

Care of Wood Counter Tops
The cleaning care of wood counter tops is very important. Many people have their own methods to clean and take care of wood counter tops. First, remove any food or other particles that is stuck to the surface even if you have to use a spatula. Don"t use scouring pads or any abrasive cleaners. Next, take a washcloth and wash the counter top with warm, soapy water. After you rinse your cloth, go over it again with plain warm water. Once your surface is clean, all that is left to do is dry and periodically apply oil. This process will keep your wood looking great for years.

There is also an oiling process for proper care of wood countertops. Since the oil works best applied warm, you can do this by running warm water over the oil container. Never boil or microwave the oil. Apply the warm oil with a paper towel, making sure you get every side and edge. Allow it to sit for thirty minutes and then blot with another paper towel until dry. That is all you have to do to take extra care of wood counter tops.
